Léon Spilliaert. Catalogue raisonné des estampes. Amérique centrale et du sud recounts in the first personFor years, the graphic work of Lon Spilliaert (1881 1946) was studied little or not at all. It was not until 1982 that a first exhibition was dedicated to him. Spilliaert's prints, his cover illustrations and book illustrations are undoubtedly less well known than his original works on paper, but they are at least as mysterious and attractive, and as varied in their subject matter: portraits, figures, landscapes, views of cities, forests and parks.
