Attributed to the silversmith Louis Joseph Dupret (Duprez), born 25 2 1773. He died in the Belgian city of Halle, 25 8 1815. He worked between 1799 and 1815. The buckle is hallmarked with hallmarks of the French Empire, used between 1809 and 1814. The French rooster 2 for silver 800 1000, minerva head and the master hallmark D under anchor in a diamond. The steel interior is still present and in good condition.
