The underside is convex, bulging outwards, while the sides curve slightly inwards. The front features a thin black horn rim, and the rest is a carved mother of pearl inlay. This inlay is shaped like a daisy with two layers of petals and a dotted pattern in the rounded center. The flower stands out in three dimensions. The iridescent white mother of pearl shell provides a beautiful contrast
