1907 Print King Henry IV Navarre Birthplace Royal Cradle Turtle Shell Pau TSM1 SCP1 SummerlandThis is an original 1907 halftone print of the birthplace of Henri Navarre (Henry IV), which is located in the old Chateau at Pau in France. Henry's royal cradle was a giant tortoise shell. Legend states that during the Revolution the authentic cradle was hidden for safety and a replica turtle shell was placed in its spot. After the rebels destroyed the replica, the original was set back in its proper place. King of France, Henry IV, was born in 1553.
